Introduction
Gymdesk is a leading provider of cloud-based management software for gyms and other fitness and wellness businesses. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced QA analyst to join our team. As the QA analyst, you will play a crucial role in helping us develop and implement quality and testing processes for our web application, mobile apps, APIs, and third-party integrations.

Responsibilities
Test Plan Creation and Execution
As a QA analyst, one of your main responsibilities will be to create detailed and structured test plans for our software. These test plans will include both functional and non-functional requirements and will serve as a roadmap for testing activities. You will also be responsible for executing these test plans and conducting manual tests to ensure the quality and user experience of our software before release.
Defect Management
In collaboration with our engineering and customer service teams, you will play a key role in identifying, documenting, and analyzing defects. You will produce detailed reports for defects and work closely with the engineering team to ensure rigorous verification of fixes and regression testing. Your goal will be to maintain a high level of software quality by driving the resolution of defects.
Backlog Refinement
As part of our agile development process, you will actively participate in backlog refinement sessions. During these sessions, you will contribute to the definition of clear and testable acceptance criteria that align with user needs and product goals. Your input will be crucial in ensuring that our software meets the highest standards of quality.
Test Case Management
You will be responsible for building and managing a library of test cases. This library will serve as a key knowledge resource for the team and will ensure that our test cases are reflective of the evolving functionality and requirements of our software. Your role will involve advocating for the use of the test case library and continuously improving its effectiveness.
Test Automation
As part of our long-term quality strategy, we are transitioning towards automated testing. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated tests for our web and mobile applications. These automated tests will provide ongoing validation of critical user flows and improve the efficiency of our testing process.
Documentation
You will play a key role in maintaining our product documentation. This will involve filling in any gaps in the documentation and updating it as new product features are added or changed. Your attention to detail and excellent written communication skills will be crucial in ensuring that our documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
To be considered for the position of QA analyst, you must meet the following requirements:
- 3+ years of professional QA experience for a web-based product.
- A proven background in manual testing, including both plan-based and exploratory testing.
- Experience building automated end-to-end (E2E) tests.
- Experience building API tests.
- Strong analytical skills to identify, document, and track defects.
- Familiarity with UX testing and the ability to identify usability issues.
- Experience building and managing a test case library.
- Comfortable working with HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
- Ability to write SQL for data verification and preparing test scenarios.
- Good proficiency with scripting languages to automate tests and pipelines.
- Ability to contribute to the development of long-term quality strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability from 9am-5pm UTC +/- 2h, or US East timezones.
Compensation
If you meet the requirements and are selected for the position, you can expect the following compensation:
- $60,000 to $80,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
- US-based employees will have the opportunity to participate in our Health Reimbursement Policy, which covers up to $450 per month for insurance and related expenses.
- 20 paid time off (PTO) days annually, in addition to national holidays in your country.
